Before the Movers Arrive

Getting ready for a relocation can be super stressful. It may seem overwhelming and impossible when you first contemplate all of your belongings fitting into boxes. But, there are some simple ways to make your move go a lot smoother.

These are a few things that I do whether the relocation includes the moving company packing me and moving my things or us packing our own belongings.

If you are not taking these things in your car. You can get a bright colored construction paper and write really big “Load Last - Unload First” and a description of what is in the box. Explain to the crew manager that these are to be the first boxes into your new home.

You may be thinking this is an awful lot of work, especially if packing is part of your relocation package. But, trust me if you do these few things, you will be so glad you did. And, if you are packing yourself, these tips will still make your move more organized and a lot easier.

This is our pre-packing checklist. If you want to know more about how to pack the perfect box, working with the movers on move-in day or even getting your house ready for market check out our other blogs. We wish you a stress-less and good moving experience!
